Pirelli British Rally 2003 VHS The Pirelli British Rally takes in some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK through its 8 round championship. These visually stunning settings are also home to some of the most demanding rally stages that the UK has to offer. The cancellation of the 1st round, Rally of Wales, was a great disappointment but the action that followed throughout the remainder of the season more than made up for this initial setback.
The early stages of the season saw Tapio Laukkanen and Jonny Milner fighting for the top spot. Laukkanen didn’t record points in the Jim Clark Memorial Rally or the Manx International leaving the door open for Milner to extend a lead and for the rest of the field to put a challenge in for 2nd place. The season was full of inspired driving, tense battles and close shaves which concluded with Milner taking the title, Austin McHale taking second place rewarding his consistent performances and Laukkanen languishing in 3rd.
Typical British weather ensured that the season saw variable conditions testing driver’s abilities to the limit. You can’t have a British Rally season without amazing action and fantastic driving and the Pirelli British Rally 2003 was no exception. Brilliant footage of amazing rallying comes as standard in this official review of the 2003 season.

World Rally Review 1999 VHS “...opens up with one of the most sensational moments in the history of the sport. Carlos Sainz brings his Toyota Corolla WRC to a halt, just 300 metres away from the end of the 1998 Rally Great Britain and a third world title. The drama does not stop from that moment on, and over two hours of compelling, electrifying viewing is guaranteed. Every round is covered in detail, with event-by-event updates of championship positions letting you see how the title race developed. Forget the statistics and just concentrate on the jaw dropping footage. When Colin McRae crashes his Ford Focus at 100mph in Australia, your first instinct is to adopt the foetal position. The in-car interaction between driver and co-driver is particularly fascinating. The action from outside is just as stunning, with Australia’s Bunnings Jumps providing a highlight as cars leap and land at crazy angles. The breathtaking beauty of the Safari, with cars kicking up high rooster-tails of sand, is another spectacle to look out for. The problem is deciding your favourite bit...” Autosport

Welsh Fram Rally 1990 VHS Scorching heat, choking dust and an ever growing collection of shredded tyres was the story of the Welsh Fram Rally, round 3 of the Shell sponsored British Open Rally Championship.
The event took off from Swansea in conditions more reminiscent of the Acropolis rather than the Welsh - noted for its sogginess. Teams and drivers were equally mortified by the unexpected conditions and the situation was summed up rather succinctly by Jimmy McRae: "In all the years I've driven in the Welsh Rally in a rear-engined car wanting fine weather, it has p***ed with rain. Now that I've got a four-wheel drive and want rain, just look at it!"
Jimmy wasn't the only driver foiled by the fickle finger of fate; the star-studded entry list included such worthies as Graham Mlddleton/Peter Wans (BMW M3), Hakan Ericsson/Johnny Johansson (Peugeot 309GTI), Malcolm Wllson/Nicky Grist (Ford Sapphire RS Cosworth) plus the two local heroes Gwvndaf Evans/Howard Davies (Ford Sapphire RS Cosworth) and David Llewellin/Phil Short (Toyota Celica GT4).
It was clearly a case of whichever crew was first away would be protected from threatening over-takers by a massive cloud of choking, blinding dust - but which would be the lucky crew? You'll thoroughly enjoy finding out when you watch this smashing video account of a great rally!

Scottish Rally Championship 1993 VHS Once more Alistair Miller and John Fife bring their own unique talents to bear in this video of The 1993 Burmah Scottish Championship seasons. It seems that this year all the crews seemed to have their accidents in front of Alistair and there's no getting away from the acerbic tongue of John Fife, whoever you are. And as for the Championship itself, well despite not meaning to enter it, Murray Grierson won it!

Scottish Rally Championship 1992 VHS Nobody knows the Scottish forests better than Alistair Miller so it goes without saying that his filming of the 1992 Scottish Rally Championship is unparalleled. Added to that is the commentary of John Fife so we have a video which should warm the hearts of all Scottish Rally fans! But what of the action? Well needless to say there are several McRaes featured although in this case the most successful one was the youngest, Alistair. Top contenders for honours was Raymond Munro in his Culloden Service Station Sierra - he was involved in a battle for supremacy right up until the end of the Championship.

Scottish Rally Championship 1990 VHS Round 4 of the 1990 Shell Open Rally Championship, the CHI Scottish Rally was a real humdinger of an event. The stages were in as excellent shape as the drivers, including the top protagonists such as Pentti Airikkala in the development Sapphire 4x4, the Clan McRae - Jimmy in the Audi 90 Quattro and Colin in the Ford RS Cosworth, Gwyndaf Evans (Ford Sapphire Cosworth N), David Llewellin (Toyota Celica GT4) and Russell Brookes (Ford Sierra XR4x4). The eventual winner proved to be virtually unbeatable and he rode to glory with almost contemptuous ease. You will enjoy every single moment of finding out who, when you watch this enthralling programme.

Mintex National Rally 1993 VHS Another amazing series in which any one of four crews had the chance to emerge as 1993 champions as they started the final round. There was only be one winner though and three very disappointed crews were left to rue the result of the final round of the six round series.
This Mintex series offered crews great value rallying and enjoyed full entries for almost every event, with rounds both on gravel and tarmac providing a good test for both competitor and vehicle. The rallies were filmed by the energetic Scotsman Alistair Miller and this sixty minute video brings you the full story of the series.

Mintex National Rally 1992 VHS This championship is now far removed from the concept of the Mobil-Top Gear Rally Championship and seems to have benefited from that difference in regulations. It may not get the recognition or the T.V. coverage but it has once again provided a good competitive championship which saw four different makes of car finish in the top four places with Richard Burns' Group N Subaru, just taking the honours from Bill Bartons Group B Metro 6R4. At only 21 Richard Burns would appear to be a star in the making and you can see his efforts to beat off his more experienced competitors in this 60 minute action packed production.

Mintex National Rally 1991 VHS The Mintex National Rally Championship is a test of man a machine. Eight rounds of demanding tarmac and forest stages pushed some of the country's best rally crews to their limit and beyond during 1991. Could Trevor Smith steer his Sierra Cosworth 4 X 4 to Championship victory at the fifth time of asking, or would he be pipped at the post by Hideaki Miyoshi? Could Steve Hill snatch the Group N showroom category for his Sierra Cosworth, or would the Mazda of Dom Buckley wrest it away from him? The answer to all these questions and more are revealed here, including exciting in-car footage from the cockpit of Smith's Sierra and interviews with the leading drivers.

Manx International Rally 1992 VHS Superb review of the Manx International Rally 1992. Colin McRae had been honing his touch to perfection with the Subaru Legacy all year and attacked the Manx from the very first stage. The closest competition came from Bertie Fisher and Kenny McKinstry (also competing in Subaru Legacys') while Dave Metcalfe and Mark Higgins proved that the Vauxhall Nova GSI can stay the pace with stirring performances in the changing conditions. A particular highlight of this review is the in-car camera footage.

Manx International Rally 1991 VHS The Manx International is regarded as Britain's fastest rally. Russell Brookes was bidding for a hat-trick of victories, as well as trying to consolidate his position at the top of leaderboard in the Shell Oils Open Rally Championship. The only person who could thwart Brookes' chances of Championship success was Colin McRae in the revolutionary Subaru Legacy'. Meanwhile Francois Chatriot fought valiantly with Brooks in another eventful and thrilling Manx International Rally. This video captures the triumph and tragedy implicit in every top-class motoring event, and presents the flavour of the marvellous atmosphere of one of the most prestigious events of the rally year. Featuring in car camera with Mark Higgins (Vauxhall Nova).

Manx International Rally 1990 VHS The Isle of Man graced the 1990 Manx Rally with warm sunshine and although the event didn’t attract quite as many European drivers as hoped, those who entered put up a highly competitive performance. Top drivers included such worthies as Bertie Fisher (BMW M3), Colin McRae (Ford RS Cosworth), Se pages Haider (Opel Kadett GSi), Russell Brookes (Ford Sapphire Cosworth 4x4) and Chris Birbeck on a rare outing (Vauxhall Astra GT/E). The event was action packed all the way and punctuated by some spectacular incidents including one massive prang which is featured in this video. Controversy raised its ugly head towards the end but the strongest memories are of some fast, exciting sport on the island.

Kilarney and Donegal Rallies 1993 VHS Killarney in May hosts the wonderful 'Rally of the Lakes' and Donegal in June sees the ‘International’ with the crews discovering that Irish tarmac stages vary from rally to rally. On some rallies the stages are fast and flowing, on others twisty and slow. They are nearly always bumpy though and this provides quite a test for the cars. Once more Alan Tyndall's company followed the crews around in 1993 to bring that mixture of action and socialising that makes Irish rallying so special.

Circuit of Ireland Rally 1990 VHS Round 2 of the 1990 British Open Rally Championship, the Circuit of Ireland took place in 'mixed' weather conditions. Rain or shine, it didn't matter much to David Llewellin, Malcolm Wilson and Colin McRae just so long as it did one or the other. In fact Llewellin was pleased about the rain as he had four wheel drive, while the rest had the power going through the rear wheels. The pace was fast and furious and some titanic scraps took place between the Ford Cosworths of Wilson, McRae, Gwyndaf Evans and Saku Vierimaa (Toyota) on dry tarmac. In the wet though...? A superb high speed chase, brilliantly and comprehensively filmed.

Circuit of Ireland and Galway Rallies 1993 VHS The tarmac roads of Ireland provide the fastest rally championship in the British Isles and Alan Tyndall's company - Tyndall PR - has for many years been providing excellent coverage of the each event for the Irish rally fans. The Galway and Circuit of Ireland rallies are the first two of the 1993 season, one over the superb stages of the West coast of Ireland and the other now said to be the longest tarmac rally in Europe and of course part of the European Rally Championship. With 90 minutes of action on this one video, it represents fantastic value.
