Way back in the 1880's the Fidler family had a Works CBF Morris Team, masterminded from the same Fidler's Fish shop on Hillgate, Stockport, Cheshire.

It could be said that this was the first 'Works Morris Team' - known as Fidler's Fancy.

Well not to mislead you any further, Fidler's fancy is a Morris Dancing Troup and is still 'alive and kicking' today.

I saw a feature about the Team in a recent 2008 Stockport Express and being intrigued about it's origins of the name of Fidler, Stockport and a Fish shop, I made further enquiries. The pictures below were provided with great help from the Fidler's Fancy Morris Team.
